Lemn Sissay: Writer in Residence
Type: New Writing
Friday 21 - Sunday 23 June: 1pm-6pm; Saturday 22 June: 5.55pm (short performance) & Sunday 23 June: 6pm (short performance)
This year GDIF will have a writer in residence for the first time. Author, poet and broadcaster Lemn Sissay will take up residency at the Old Royal Naval College as part of this year’s Greenwich Fair (21 – 23 June).
Back in the 19th century Charles Dickens captured the energy of the Greenwich Fair in his Sketches by Boz. Lemn will be soaking up the atmosphere of the Fair’s 21st century reinvention, capturing all the atmosphere, wonder and surprise of London’s largest annual outpouring of free, outdoor arts.
