Description:

Famed for its legendary street theatre production, Carmen Funebre, which explored the impact of war on civilians, Polish company Teatr Biuro Podrozy present the world premiere of this newly commissioned sequel. Physical theatre, fire, unusual staging, puppetry and music will pick up the continuing story of refugees and migrants caught up in a spiral of war, fences and the dream of escape.

Gates will open at 21:00

Access infomation:

Performance will take place after dark on the tarmaced area (basketball courts) in the south of the gardens. The site has flat and ramped access. The ground is tarmaced and mostly level. There are some grassy areas.

Audio Described
The performance on Friday 1 July is audio described. Headsets are available from the Info Point (£5 deposit). There will be a touch tour at 21:00

Captioned
The performance on Friday 1 July is captioned.

Viewing Platform
If you use a wheelchair or have other access requirements there is an accessible viewing platform. Captions and audio description can be accessed from the viewing platform too. Spaces can be booked in advance by emailing access@festival.org or you can just turn up on the night.

There is a meeting point at Bethnal Green station for anyone who would like assistance getting to the venue. We will leave for the venue promptly at 20:45

Disabled Parking
It is recommended to use public transport as there are limited car parking facilities available near the Festival sites. Hackney Council allow free parking to any person displaying a Blue Badge in disabled parking spaces, Pay & Display and metered parking spaces. You can also park on a single yellow line for up to three hours, provided you do not cause an obstruction and there is not a loading ban. You will need to clearly display your badge, with the clock showing the arrival time.
