Programme: Global Streets

Libyan Street Theatre

Event information:

Type: New Writing, Spectacle, Theatre

Duration: Runs approx. 20 mins

In a first for UK street theatre we welcome artists from Libya to create a new work especially for GDIF audiences. A troupe of 6 Libyan actors and musicians have spent the last two weeks in residency at the Festival watching performances and working with UK company Periplum to create a world premiere. Influenced by life in Tripoli and a country rebuilding its identity following regime change and war, this piece of street theatre is the start of a new artistic journey for the Libyan arts scene and Libyan people.

Supported by the British Council and the European Development Fund
