Come and celebrate London's bid to host the Olympic Games in
the heart of the Lower Lea Valley with this community spectacle combining
fire sculptures, lanterns, dhol drummers, original music, video projections
and spectacular fireworks.
The Bridge is a spectacular community celebration of London's
bid to host the Olympic Games in 2012, inspired by the new bridges that
will be build in the area in coming years.
- Shining the path
to 2012, 100 futuristic lanterns will twinkle across the bridge (created
by children from Old Palace, Hallsville, Marner and Ranelagh Schools)
- An evocative soundscape bridging cultures across
the Lower Lea Valley designed by Neil Cole
- Huge video projections showing the past and present
of the area produced by Hi8tus with local trainee video artists
- ' Windows to the Future', an installation made
by shoppers from Chrisp Street Market, Rathbone Market and at the Idea
Store - Bow, Roman Road
Free drop in art workshops

By Car: Three Mills Green, off Three Mill Lane. Free
parking at Tesco Supermarket next to Three Mill Lane
Access: Cobbled approach to Three Mills Green along Three
Mill Lane. If cobbles are difficult to negotiate, contact Catherine
on (020) 8305 1818 to discuss special arrangements for your visit. There
will be a specially adapted toilet in Three Mills Green.
